Monday July 14th we will kick things off with the always popular President’s Reception at Trinity Brewhouse from 6-9pm (6-7pm for the student meet and greet; 7-9pm for everyone). Have a great time dining, catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones.
Tuesday (July 15th) and Wednesday (July 16th) will feature full days of presentations from the cutting edge of aquatic plant and algae management research. Don’t miss our plenary session highlighting on the new hydrilla that’s plaguing the northeast. We will have several invited speakers that will share their knowledge of and experience with this new hydrilla biotype and its management. Other special sessions include a noertheastern-centric session with presentations by NEAPMS members, and a HABs session where we’ll launch the long-awaited CAST HABs paper that was spearheaded by APMS. There will be a few special luncheon opportunities on these days, like the Past Presidents’ luncheon, Regional Chapters luncheon, and Student Affairs luncheon.
Don’t forget to join us Wednesday night for the APMS Awards Banquet. Guests will enjoy a delicious plated dinner while recognizing the great contributions of our APMS members. Friends and family are encouraged to attend as well!
Be sure to hang around on Thursday (July 17th), as we bring the conference to a close with a half-day session.
As the Program develops an “events at a glance” will be posted with more information on dates and times. Event times are subject to change as the program is finalized.
First Call for Papers: Slots for oral and poster presentations are available, so please submit your title and abstract as soon as possible. Oral and poster presentations are solicited for original research on the biology or ecology of aquatic and wetland plants and algae, control methods (biological, chemical, cultural, mechanical) for invasive, non-native or nuisance plant or algal species, and restoration projects involving wetland or aquatic plants and algae. Presentation of original research will be given preference and should be indicated by including results in the abstract. This year’s meeting will feature three special sessions: “new hydrilla”, NEAPMS, and HABs. If you’d like to be placed in one of these sessions, please email program chair Lyn Gettys ([email protected]). The last day to submit abstracts is May 23rd, 2025.
